MBE GAZETTE 15TH NOVEMBER 1945 AS CAPT. (QM) RECONNAISSANCE CORP (RAC)
CAPTAIN HARVIE TOOK HIS LIFE SHORTLY AFTER HAVING RECEIVED THE AWARD.
It became apparent after his death that he had been ill in Burma and should have been sent back – but was not – the award of the MBE was given for services in Burma, so no one really knows what he had been exposed to plus the uncertainty of his future in the Army, for which he had served 30 Years.
